Eventphone: früher, heute, morgen – Vortrag auf dem 35C3

Last year we almost com­ple­te­ly repla­ced the hard­ware and soft­ware of the Pho­ne Ope­ra­ti­on Cen­ter (PoC). The big­gest step from the user’s point of view was to replace the long DECT regis­tra­ti­on queu­es with a self- or auto-regis­tra­ti­on func­tion. At the Eas­ter­hegg 2018 it was our first test and fail. The second test in August 2018 at the EMF Camp in Eng­land was suc­cessful, but with a frac­tion of the num­ber of exten­si­ons com­pared to the 35C3. We were asked a lot of ques­ti­ons through our usu­al chan­nels and at both events, which makes us very hap­py. We took this as an oppor­tu­ni­ty to open the doors and give a long over­due, per­so­nal insight.

At the 35C3 on 27.12.2018 (day1) we held a lec­tu­re in the lec­tu­re are­na of the Open Infra­struc­tu­re Orbit (OIO). ST and Sascha explai­ned and show­ed how the PoC has deve­lo­ped over the last years, why we work agi­le­ly, how a Mini­mum Via­ble Pro­duct (MVP) works and what mista­kes we made. Sub­se­quent­ly, the PoC deve­lo­pers ans­we­red the audi­en­ce’s questions.

The talk was recor­ded by the Open Infra­struc­tu­re Orbit. As soon as the video is available, we will dis­tri­bu­te the link via the usu­al chan­nels. Wir haben im letz­ten Jahr die Hard- und Soft­ware des Pho­ne Ope­ra­ti­on Cen­ter  (PoC) fast voll­stän­dig ersetzt. Der größ­te Schritt aus Benut­zer­sicht war, die lan­gen DECT Regis­trie­rungs­schlan­gen gegen eine Selbst- oder Auto-Regis­trie­rungs­funk­ti­on zu tau­schen. Auf dem Eas­ter­hegg 2018 war unser ers­ter gro­ßer Test und fail. Der zwei­te Test im August 2018 auf dem EMF Camp in Eng­land ver­lief erfolg­reich, aber mit einem Bruch­teil der Anzahl an Neben­stel­len im Ver­gleich zum 35C3. Über unse­re übli­chen Kanä­le und auf den bei­den Ver­an­stal­tun­gen wur­den uns vie­le Fra­gen gestellt, was uns sehr freut. Das haben wir zum Anlass genom­men die Türen zu öff­nen und mal einen lan­ge fäl­li­gen, per­sön­li­chen Ein­blick zu geben.

Auf dem 35C3 haben wir am 27.12.2018 (Tag1) einen Vor­trag in der Vor­trags-Are­na des Open Infra­struc­tu­re Orbit (OIO) gehal­ten. ST und Sascha haben erklärt und gezeigt, wie sich das PoC über die letz­ten Jah­re ent­wi­ckelt hat, war­um wir agil arbei­ten, wie eigent­lich ein Mini­mum Via­ble Pro­duct (MVP) geht und wel­che Feh­ler wir gemacht haben. Im Nach­gang haben die Deve­lo­per des PoCs die Fra­gen des Publi­kums beantwortet.
