+The phone can be charged (slowly) with power through the usb port.

+==== USB-port mod for 610d ====
+With a bit of soldering skills it is pretty easy to add USB charging to the 610d handset.
+The 610d already has on the PCB the receptables for the USB hardware. USB port and some electronics components are just not soldered. For charging via USB, it is easy to solder a microUSB or miniUSB port there. The "-" power connection is already connected, the "+" power connection needs to be connected with a small wire to the "+" pin of the cradle power input. It best can be done on the other side of the PCB -- there is a test point connected with the USB "+" pin, use a multimeter to find out which one.
+Then the 610d can be charged with a dump 5V USB charger.
+WARNING: Do not plug in USB and charging cradle power input at the same time, since after this modification both are connected in parallel. It might damage external power supplies (or the computer).

+The SD card needs to be specially formatted by Mitel. It contains a new DECT portable part identifier. The SD card will be used by the phone to store all configuration and user data including the identifier on the sd card.
